Hey, everybody.  Just wanted to give a quick report on the DPMS that I purchased last year.

Last September, I came back from Afghanistan and treated myself to a new rifle...the DPMS LR-308B.  I took it to the range shortly thereafter only to find out that it was having significant issues with feeding rounds out of the stock magazines supplied with the rifle.  Every 3rd round was being crushed by the bolt.  I was fit to be tied and was seriously considering tossing the rifle into the Potomac.

Well, after reading the recommendations posted on this site, and with the very recent release of the Magpul 20-LR PMags, I decided to give the rifle a chance to redeem itself.  I bought 2 of the PMags, took it out to the range yesterday, fed it Federal Fusion 165grainers, and was completely satisfied.  The magazines function flawlessly.  The rifle, with the exception of the poor trigger, worked beautifully.  Sub 1" groups were the norm of the day.

I transitioned to my "Jesus Rifle" (JN8:12) 5.56AR, since shooting .308 all day can get kinda expensive.  Using the GI steel magazines, I soon found myself thinking about buying PMags for the little rifle.  I had 3 fail-to-feed malfunctions in one magazine.  But, since I was still riding the high of my DPMS' performance, I really wasn't put out too much.

So, DPMS LR-308B, Federal Fusion 165gr, and 20-LR PMags = Full of Win!

Been waiting on the LR-20, and now that it is out, this is all I am going to buy from now on.
Although I have 6 steel/aluminum LR-308 magazines that work fine. I had to adjust the lips
and polish the lips to make them all work correctly.

I dopped a timney trigger in my LR-308 and the rifle is now quite badass with my jesus scope.

Put some nickels away for a good trigger and you will be even more pleased.   They make a huge difference too.

My POF 308 had the same issues.

I was using C-products mags.

I worked on the feed lips and now two out of four work fine.

Bought 4 pmags, ran all of them through with NOT ONE FTF!.

fwiw.

Send the OEM mags back to DPMS. They will replace them. Mine feeds great with the newer mags, even round tip hunting rounds.
