I am fairly new to the forum this is my first (or second) post.  I just picked up a POF .308 stripped lower at the Houston gun show for $299.  I don't know a lot about building the rifle, but I know that was one heck of a deal.  I am hoping some of yall can give me a good starting point for a complete parts list to build the rifle.  Any advice will be greatly appreciated.

Get a C&R FFL, it's cheap and easy and will make getting the components alot less expensive.  The C&R will give you dealer cost from midway and brownells.   Just buying the stripped DPMS upper will save you more than the cost of the license.

You'll need an upper DPMS pattern will fit.
Barrel, AR10 or DPMS will work but use the matching bolt and gas tube for the barrel you choose.  You will also need the DPMS barrel nut regardless of which barrel you run.
AR10 or DPMS LR308 bolt carrier
Not sure on the lower parts kit with the POF you should give them a call to see what they use.
For furniture you're going to AR10 pattern buttstocks if going with something like the PRS
Buffers and springs are different you can use the AR10 or DPMS LR308 stuff.

You will need a regular ar15 parts kit with a set (2) of sleeves for the pivot and take down pins. The POF proprietary parts should have come with the lower. There were 2 companies (can't recall names right now) making the sleeves - one had them for $5/each and the other for $20/each. I can make you a WECSOG set to get you moving if the $5 ones are out of stock.

FREE - I'll even pay the dollar for shipping.

I just got off the phone with POF (very helpful by the way) They said "Cold War Shooters" has the necessary sleeves for the pivot and takedown pins.

The POF lowers use ar15 diameter (.250") pivot and takedown pins. Most .308 uppers have .275"ish holes.

Take a takedown pin with you to Lowes. Go to the the nuts and bolts isle. They should have those drawers that has a whole bunch of stuff in them. They have several bushing to choose from. Pick one that slides over the takedown pin. File the outside diameter down to fit the upper. It will cost you more in gas going than what the bushings will run.

I sure appreciate the off, but I couldn't ask you to do that.  I have a buddy that can help me out, if needed.  And I again I do appreciate the gesture.
