| I want to start building a beowulf but I have a few questions. There isnt a whole ton of info on Alexander's site. Does anyone know what exactly is included with thier uppers? Does it come with the bolt, carrier, and charging handle? Do they offer anything with a longer barrel or does anyone know of any other companies offering uppers? Can I use a standard ar-15 bolt, or is it a different one for the .50? And how about all the lower internals, all standard ar-15 parts? |

you need to go to he beowulf forum for the best info.
i took the beowulf plunge about 2 months ago and have yet to shoot due to the availability in ammo an price gouging on it. i bought the beowulf entry upper. yes it comes with charging handle and BCG. just pin her on an upper and find ammo to shoot. all the barrels i have seen are 16 inchers untill the other day. midway is offering a 18 incher but it's not in stock yet. and it is just for the barrel. |

Satern has barrels, Midway has AR Stoner barrels, bolts can be had from AA.
The bolts are not just standard 7.62 bolts. If you build your own, remember that the ejection port must be milled out on a standard lower to get the rounds to eject properly. AA uppers are complete and come with a magazine. Don't let the ammo whiners get you down, I reload and haven't actually had anything to whine about as far as the beowulf is concerned. And don't let the bullet selection whiners get you down either, as I've load bullets for the wullf from 275gr. all the way up to 600gr., with stops at 300, 325, 334, 350, 385, 400, &500gr. I haven't even resorted to cast bullets yet. Many different weight options down that road... |

Hello,
I got my Beowulf upper from Cabelas (or maybe Midway, I forget which) about 3 years ago. It cam complete w/everything except sights. I put it on my Rock River National Match lower, got an EOTECH, and started shooting. Fortunately, believe it or not, my local gunstore actually carried the ammo, so I built up a good supply of it. After shooting all of that, I turned to reloading. It is not difficult to reload. If you can reload a .38 special, you can reload a Beowulf. My current load is a 350 grain Hornady XTP sitting on top of 3.1 cc (I foget how many grains that it of the top of my head) of Reloader 7. I've used this reload about 200 times through the gun w/o any problem. The only other thing that I want for it is a back-up sight incase my battery on the EOTECH goes dead. Another thing that I like about the Beowulf is that it is so much easier to clean than my other (i.e. .223 cal.) AR because everything is so big, the "nooks and crannies" on a .50 caliber are huge in comparison to anything else. R, MO-Anglo-Saxon |
| If I was a fishing guide in Alaska, I'd be carrying a 50 cal Beowulf to protect my clients. Hands down, it is the best bear-stopping fire-power money can buy, and lightweight, compact, rugged. Much better bear-stopping defense than the 12 ga. shotguns and lever action guide guns I've seen them carrying. 15 big rounds in the magazine gives you enough shots to hit the furry furious thing when you are messing your pants and shaking like a leaf. |
