I have a RRA upper 6.8.

Using Cproducts mags w/ 110grn VMax Hornady ammo mounted on a RRA Lower.

With the rifle loaded; one in the chamber 24 in a mag, mag in the gun.

If you pull the charging handle to hand cycle the gun it is stiff/hard to pull the bolt back (think tap rack bang on a no fire). Border line to the point of needed to strike the but of the gun on the ground. Once the bolt lets go it cycle normaly shell is ejected, let go of the charging handle the bolt flys home and loads another round.

The gun shots just fine, well all 20 rounds the gun has thru it.

If the gun is unloaded and you cycle the gun with the charging handle it works just fine.

What gives?

To make this more fun.

Take a spare 6.8 bolt do the same: Gun dose not stick; BUT when hand cycling the gun it fails to load 30% of the time. The bullet being stripped of the mag dose not quite sit into the face of the bolt and james up going into the chamber. Cycles just fine.

Driving me nuts trying to figure out whats up??????

Thinking I may just hand cycle the gun a 1000 times (unloaded) and see if it will "break" in.

try it with 15 or 20 rounds in mag for a while. Sometimes with a full mag its hard to cycle with the full 25 rounds.

I had the exact same problem with my DPMS and the Hornady ammo.  I ended up pulling the bullets, resizing the case, and reinserting the bullets.  These cycled and fired fine.  I'm not sure what the deal is with them, others have reported problems, too.  I just stick with SSA ammo and brass.

I'll try down loading the mags.

Interesting, I'll put an order in for some SSA ammo.

I think the PRI mags say that if you have that difficulty, just load down a round until the mag "breaks in", for lack of a better term...
