I have a DPMS .308 SASS with the Vltor collapsable stock.  I also have a Slash CAR10 heavy buffer.  The rifle ejects between 2 & 3 o'clock,

I want to try an SSS buffer spring.  Would you get the AR15 one or the AR10 version of the SSS spring?

I use them in my 308 and 223s but  they are too long for the collapsible stock. I had to measure a new carbine spring and cut the Tubb one down to work.

Measure twice and cut once, but cut long and take a coil off one at a time until it feels right.

I bought an AR10 spring from Slash at the same time as getting the CAR-10.  I found it to be significantly stiffer than the original DPMS AP4 spring.
As mentioned, it will need to be trimmed a few coils.  I believe I removed 2-3 coils until it would lock back on the last round when cycled by hand.  When I went to the range, I had exactly 1 short stroke with Lithuanian 7.62NATO.  When I got home, I took off 1 more coil and have not had any more short strokes (or other malfunctions for that matter) since.  Granted, I only have 640rnds total through it, and I mostly shoot .308WIN now.

ETA:  I run an M93B collapsible stock and have no experience with the VLTOR.
