| need some help here just got a rra lar 8 and need some input on scopes this is a completely new area for me im looking for something under $600 used for target/hunting mainly shooting in the 100yd-300yd range but would like to be able to take some longer shots once in a while. I need opinions on scopes recticles and mounting hardware. Thanks |

Its a good scope. A bit on the expensive side though.
Next would probably be a 2-7x Leupold VX1. I prefer 2x on the low end. Better for CQ woods hunting, Otherwise 3-9x works. Sightron S1 3-9x mildot is a good one too and its cheap. I KO'd a 250# hog at 300 yards 1st shot with a 7mm-08 with that Sightron scope. That said I do prefer 12x min on top for long distance. If you can afford it the SixX is about as good as it will get at around the $600 range. |
