| Here's the news from the horses mouth. I called LMT last week to ask about the 308, here's the scoop. They have a contract with someone to make several thousand rifles. If all goes well, they might start introducing them late this year. I have ordered directly from them on two different occasions and know a rep a little bit, they wont even take a paid in full prepay, downpayment of anysort, ect. So dont plan on seeing it happen to soon. Having delt with the company, and owning more than one of them, i believe if they are into production and work, they will soon hit they market. Their is just to big of a demand for high quality weaponry. Take Knight's Armament for example, I tried to add another SR-25 to my collection , thinking the wait time would be at least a year, ( which is not uncommon for direct orders through quality manufactures). Tim said they are not taking any orders from anybody right now do to the quota they have to meet for the military. ..................hope this helps. |
| Actually that might be good news for me, so that this will allow my gun fund to build back up after all of the hoop la for the last several months. About 6 months ago, I thought about the DPMS SASS and mini SASS. I went to a gun show and saw an LMT MRP upper and now I have an CQB MRP, have ordered a standard LMT, then maybe hopefully I will be able to get a 308 MRP for Christmas. Yep I like the LMT family. |

If it's true that they have a contract with the military or 'someone' for thousands of rifles, why are they soliciting advice from the buying public on their supposedly-still-in-planning-stages 308 rifle? ![]() They can do both IF they have a contract for several thousand ar15 type rifles then they may not have the production capacity to start the 308's into mass production. YMMV |

I will have to pass on an LMT .308 I recently purchased and LMT bolt carrier assy. and a complete lower assy. Both have machining issues and both were returned. The bolt was replaced and still waiting on a determination on the lower. There you go trying to upset the kool-aid cart.

The LMT .308 was the nicest .308 at SHOT this year. Yes, even nicer that the LaRue OSR. The continuous top rail of the LMT .308 is a nice benefit. Every time I call the LMT rep to ask about the .308, he tells me not to ask. The contract they have is with a foreign entity. They paid for the design of the .308.

Their fit and finish are excellent and I would buy them again in a heartbeat. |
