I have my 5.56s and then one 6.8 SBR that I love. I'm thinking of maybe getting another upper to play with and think I want bigger. I initially was thinking .458 Socom and from looking at Teppo's site, I found the .338 Spectre. Anyone have info on this round? What about factory ammo loads as I don't reload?
I still like the idea of a .458 and being that the lower my 6.8 is on is registered as an SBR, I think a 10.5" .458 would be killer; what a powerhouse in a small package that would be. Just not sure what I'd really do with it and I think the .338 would be more versatile if I can find ammo for it. My last thought was to get an 18" 6.8 upper setup with my 4-14 scope; which is probably the best idea really as I already have ammo the 6.8 is definitely a potent package. How would the 6.8 do against bear? I'd love to take an SBR .458 to a bear hunt but just don't really have much else to justify that big of a caliber. |
