I was sitting on my favorite log this morning overlooking my favorite pasture with my AP4.  As I was admiring the Panther, I started to think that maybe I'd like to swap the free float aluminum tube for a rail system.........or maybe even remove the tube to clean the carbine if I ever had it out in wet weather.  Then it hit me.......how do I remove the tube?  Must I remove the barrel?  How about Removing the FSB?  I hope there is an easier idiot proof "did you make sure there was gas in it" solution that I'm too dense or inexperienced to see?

Also, anyone recommend a decent quad rail system for it for a couple hundred bucks?

The DPMS FFT is 2 pieces. The barrel nut piece is the 1.5" closest to the receiver. The remainder is a threaded tube that screws onto the barrel nut. If you look closely you can see the seam between the 2 pieces.

The front sight base is installed/pinned after the FFT is installed. Instructions for unpinning the FSB can be found about 1/3 down the first page on this link.
