It comes with a heavy carbine buffer. What if I want to put it on a regular stock. Does the rifle buffer work ok, or do I need to get a heavy rifle buffer? I assume that the heavy carbine buffer is not proper for use in a rifle.

According to the AR57 web site, you will need to get a buffer designed for a standard stock and the 5.7 upper.

If I wanted to use a rifle length tube, is there anything saying I can't put a piece of pvc/alum spacer in the tube first, and then use said heavy carbine buffer and spring?

Some have suggested quarters in the tube before you put in the spring. I have no first hand experience.
