What's a good mounting solution for a Leopold/BORS 50mm on an AR-10 platform?
I'm now to the AR-10's. Do you just mount the scope right on the pic rail with some high or extra high steel rings? (which one)
Is there a good quick release mount that will hold zero?

I'm looking to spend around $150 or so.

thanks

LaRue LT104 gets the scope to the correct height for proper cheek weld.

Are there any more cost effective options or off brands that are still good?

I used a Yankee Hill extended riser with Burris rings and a Leupold 2x7 compact on my LR308T.

$2500+ for leupold/BORS, it deserves the best mount.
LaRue.
add $50 more to your mount allowance.

this is assuming you have the A3 upper.....

as cool looking as the BORS is, personally, i'd spend that money on ammo, and other upgrades  (TRIGGER, stock, suppressor...).
unless funds are unlimited, and mine are not.  i'll be counting my own clicks.

cool gizmo though.
post pics when you get it set up, and i'll be lusting after them.

I use the one piece scope mount from Model 1 Sales, and it works very good.
And its under $80.

I will also say Larue. My 18" 308 sports a 104 with a piggy back 137 and dr optic holding a 4.5-16 ill TMR and a seperate 1.5-5 ill TMR also in a second 104. Had money, and spent it well. Very glad with the turn outs. My 24" 308 sports the 10MOA base 158 holding a 6.5-20x50 ill TMR. The 18" usually has the 1.5-5 mounted but I do use the larger 4.5-16 at the range. If I had a bit more moeny and could find one, I would get a tact20 and install the 4.5 on that and leave the 1.5 on the 18". Either way I am glad I have Larue mounts holding them. I also have serveral other Larue items, want a stealth upper but money is going elsewhere right now. But who knows Ill see what I can do.

After reading about BORS, it appears you need to keep the rings that come with it as the rear ring serves as a mount for the computer. Since LR-308B already comes with a high rise upper receiver, you don't need anything else to mount a BORS equipped scope.
