i am most seriously considering going with an armalite, but RRA, DPMS, and Patriot Ordinance Factory are also floating around in my head...decisions, decisions

I got a email from LaRue a few days back about his new .308 offering at $2,500. If I had the cash I would grab one.

I have a DPMS .308 SASS and am very satisfied with accuracy and reliabilty.

With everything selling like crazy right now what is availabe might be the best one to get.

This thread has limited info. DPMS mags is all I can figure out.

Good luck finding one, if you can find a rra I would suggest buying it, rb precision tells me rock river is not making the .308's.  Got that there was a 2 year backlog on them from another dealer.

Even considering trying to find just a lower here for a .308, and not much luck there either.

Are most of the parts interchangeble, will dpms upper fit armalite lower etc....

Hope and pray that the Keltec RFB makes it to market and get that when it does.

Armalite is the only one that offers a chrome lined barrel. it also has a longer, midlength gas system and higher quality forged receivers. it is a lot more expensive.

RRA has all the advantages of the armalite, except for a chrome lined barrel, and uses cheap FAL mags.

the DPMS has more parts comonality with other brands (POF, and most rarer custom types, still basically DPMS is the only way for parts).

basically I would get an RRA if you can find one, for cheaper mags. after that I would go with armalite for a chrome lined barrel.

unless I was on a budget, then I would go DPMS. it would serve you well, but are made slighlty cheaper. but likely you would never notice the difference.

Why?

It may be able to stand up to harsher enviroments, but it wont be as accurate......

I have a DPMS lower and A3 upper. Have a Titian barrel on order. Like the S/S barrel. I think it would be easyer to get the DPMS. Also the RRA is wayyyy back ordered. Not to sure about how relible the mag's are.

what mags fit the FAR titan?

The FAR Titan uses DPMS mag's. You can also use Sr25 mags. C system or early Armalite (for ban states) From the Org. Ar10.

I am waiting for the MQI QCB 308 conversion I think it will initially be available with an M1A mag well, unfortunately they have been working on it for a few years and I have no idea when it shall be released. I have gotten the chance to handle one and shot I was quite aroused. It will be quite economical for me as I already have an MGI Modular Rifle. All it will require is their strengthened bolt, mag well and barrel.

$1850 for the weapon, also picked up 3 25rnd mags.

It won't require an AR10 length upper?

Correct. It will work in the AR15 sized QCB upper, I think that is the reason for the long development . They have to strengthen some of the parts specifically the bolt.
