All, obviously from my post count I'm a newbie here, but this is the best place I figure I can get the answers I'm looking for. I'm over in Baghdad and for some reason the Grendel forums are broken on these systems (bah humbug!). Besides, I suspect most folks are posting both here and there anyhow.
How good is Alexander Arms in customer service? Are they quick to reply to questions? I've sent them a query on the availability of barrels for an upper I was looking at. It has only been one day, so I'm not expecting a reply that quick, but I'm curious what experience others have had with the company, especially since if I commit to the 6.5 the sources for parts is pretty limited (at least not as prevalent as the 6.8). I thank you in advance for your time in replying. |
| Well, I sent them my first email about 3 weeks ago and so far no response, also left a phone message. Was looking to build a 6.5 and need the barrel and bolt. I have everything else sitting here and am about to go to Saturn for the barrel, but I really wanted their upper. |

Thank you for the welcome! I've heard good things about them but I am curious what the current turn-around time is on an upper from them. I'm looking at a RRA lower and I want to use the AA 6.5 upper. Well, I'd prefer to, but if the turn-around time on an order is too long I may have to go another route. |
| Well, they got back to me pretty quickly and answered my questions well. So, I just ordered a 16" 6.5 upper from them! Now to get that RRA lower with the match trigger! Of course, I can't get through on the phone tonight so I have to wait until tomorrow. Damn! |

Well, I'm not several hours away in terms of 'time-zone-matching' so I just call them and talk to a live-person... they've been VERY helpful with me in answering non-standard questions about "...what does xx-part weigh and what does yy-part weigh..." etc.
I'd rate their service as 'good' as they were always willing to stop what they were working on and go right-now and get the to-be customer answers to their (my) questions. I am a customer now (I guess) as I have barrel, bolt and receiver / carrier assembly on order from them. ––CC |

Personally I have experienced the best customer service by talking to them on the phone. I would recommend waking up at a time when they would be open so you can talk to someone.
I've never tried contacting them another way so that may work as well. I just know that when I'm at work I tend to give phone calls priority over e-mails. |

Hmmmm I have never had a problem getting through, sure sometimes they are busy but they always take care of things. |

. I even once had the pleasure of speaking to Bill Alexander himself.
