What works well with the 7.62x39? Can you use the dead on at 50 yards like the .223 to be good out to 200 yards or is there a better zero for this round?
Thanks,
Pat

when shooting slippery 125 grn nosler ballistic tips I prefer the 200yd zero this puts you less than 3" high at 100 and about 12" low at 300

What would be a good zero point if your longest shot would be around 150yrds.

In that case I would prolly just sight in 2.5" to 3" high at 100 and shoot point blank from muzzle to 150yds or slightly more

I've been told to zero just like a 12ga. shotgun with slug.  25yards. then you'll be on at 100 yards.

always zero at the range you intend to shoot at. If you can't shoot well enough to group and therefore slight your rifle in any farther than 25yds away you have no business hunting till you get more practice. Especially in light of the fact that a slug and a rifle bullet are about as far apart in terms of ballistics as you could possibly get

Today I zeroed in my 7.62X39 at 25 yards, and found that all of my shots at 100 yards were about 4" high.

That's fine for me, as this AR is my go-to gun, and will be sporting a red dot shortly. For distance I use my BAR-10, which has a 40X scope that is zeroed at 100 yards, with a Burris Fastfire piggybacked on it that's zeroed for 25 yards.
