I placed my first order from one of the site sponsors 3 weeks ago today for a middy 6.8 upper.  My CC was hit the same day, but I have seen no signs of the upper.  What is a reasonable time to wait for delivery?

The party involved was very helpful and has a very good reputation on this site.  I do not want to do anything to harm that until I hear from others on what a reasonable delivery time may be.  When ordering parts and uppers in the past, I have usually received in 5-7 days from other vendors.

Did you inquire if the item you wanted was actually in stock?  Did you ask them the "how long is it tell it ships"  question.  Some uppers are months out depending on the supplier.  Why don't you just call them and ask?

That is a very noble position in not wishing to disclose nor tarnish a reputation on this board, especially concerning sponsors.  When buying a upper or firearm, if it is not in stock, typically I ask for an approx wait time.  Also, the usual practice I have run into is a person does not hit the CC for the full amount, only a 50% down, 50% upon arrival/completion of the firearm/build.

I would suggest calling the dealer and asking on your own behalf what the hold up is. Most of the time this can clear up confusion and rectify the situation.
Everyone here will have different experiecnes with different wait times, depending on who they bought from, what the item was etc. So I do not think it would be prudent to factor in the times of others in your particular instance.

That would be my advise.

He has not returned calls.  When I ordered, he said the item was in stock.

How hard have you been trying to contact them?

If you've only tried to call a couple times, keep trying.  If you know an e-mail address try that way as well.  If you know a street address, snail mail the company a letter.  It's like they say on TV, "Communication is the key to any relationship"

But if you've been persistently trying to contact them for 3 weeks straight with no response, I would have the credit card company reverse the charge.  I don't tolerate that type of business, personally.
