Greetings! I'm new to the site and a new owner of a DPMS LR-308AP4. I have never owned an AR type rifle before so I am learning as I go. After much investigation and self-deliberation, I think that I would like to go with an Eotech 512 for my rifle and retain the iron sights as well. My main question is this...will I need a riser for the Eotech in order to keep the glass from being buried between the front and rear sights on my weapon? If not, then great. If so, what are some recommendations? Thanks! |

Thanks for taking a stab at my question! Okay, so would it, in your opinion, be best to have it cowitness exactly with the irons or would you opt to create a little space in there with a riser? Something in me seems to cause me to lean towards keeping the irons in the lower 1/3 so as to still have the irons usable but give me less obstruction with the Eotech's field of vision. |

I prefer it all to line up as well. I dont get the 1/3 co-witness. I do not like the rear sight that comes with the AP4. That thing is huuuge. I replaced mine with the ARMS 40 flip up site. So it stays out of the way when I dont want it. dont know if you can see the set up well in this picture....
