Just brought home a new DPMS AP4 and the MagPul CTR won't fit the receiver extension (aka buffer tube).

Is the .308 receiver extension larger as a caliber, or is it a "commercial" vs. "mil-spec" issue?

I've seen rifles posted here with the MagPul PRS. What options do I have for a collapsible stock?

Thanks!

It's the same as a 5.56 buffer tube, so yea, it needs a Mil spec tube

The DPMS AP4 collasabile is a commercial sized tube. The Standard A2 stock is just that. Standard so the full size ACE or the PRS will fit. Here is my 18" 308 with CTR and the 24" with the PRS. When I originally bough the 24"I put on a ACE to make it lighter, but swapped it out to one of my 223s.

Back when it had the ACE

It has nothing to do with 5.56 or 223, it is the manufacture that chooses what size to use. Factory DPMS, RRA and bushies are commerical sized 1.17". BUT then you need to worry about the ads like "DPMS/RRA builds with quailty parts" since they use whatever the guy or girl had laying around. If in doubt measure. Being the example of this post is a factory DPMS 308 AP4, it will be commercial.
