I ordered my LR-308C (TAC20) about mid-February and I received it 2 weeks ago. Took about 11 weeks. (and its awesome!) |

Just saw two sass 308's on gunbroker.com for $1,900. That's not a bad price considering the supply and demand. Might as well buy one of those. I bought my 308B off of gunbroker and I couldn't be happier with it. The cats out of the bag on DPMS 308's and their accuracy. The price is only going to get higher because of demand and materials, may as well bite the bullet and just buy one. |
Are you able to post a pic? I`ve been thinking about a ban state version. Doesyours have the quad rail or the A2 handguards/ |
I ended up with one off of Gunsamerica for the $1914 shipped. Sure beats waiting. Whittaker guns (http://www.whittakerguns.com/) has one for $1779 +shipping, but it is the older model with the Vltor stock. |

I ordered my TAC-20 upper March 17, with a single railed gas block and of course I had to add the heavy rails, I was told 12-14 weeks... should be here between June 9 to June 23... I'm waiting for it, I still haven't ordered the scope or rings yet. Just ordered the mags last week, not really stressing out about it. If I knew the upper would take this long I would have ordered the upper before buying the Fulton Lower I also have a SST 20" 5.56mm barrel on back order with them. I like that DPMS does 10% promotions & 10% off for military, wish I could combeine to get to 20% off, but 10% is pretty decent and free shipping if you order online. They're fast with everything else except for barrels, great customer service, they just need to make barrels faster... they've only been backed up like this since the fall of 2004!
DPMS builds them as they are ordered, so if you order one you can ask that it doesn't have a Flash Hider or Bayonet Lug. I had to pretty much pull my hair out and ask WTF, to get them to send mine to CA with a Flash Hider that was removeable, wasn't really concerned with the bayonet lug though, as I wanted a gas block on it. |
| I just walked in to the shop in SLC a week ago and they had an SASS so i took my Arsenal ak off layaway and put all the money towards the SASS. They said a guy had just backed out of it. They said they order three ever month and they are all sold before they even arrive. I lucked out. |

After reading all of the above posts, I have two thoughts which wander through my mind. First is that I am happy that I got my LR 308B a year ago after a three month wait and - Second that there appears to be a lot of people that are ordering / buying EBRs because they are afraid of their government and what that government will do to their freedoms. When in fact it is the government itself that should be fearing / respecting the people. The second amendment is NOT about hunting. Roger |
First nice user name, Was it dougs, impact, or getsome (bet it was these guys). I got mty 308s thru GA due to the wait. The plain jane DPMS 308 (24" SS bull, smooth side yada yada) is at sprotsmans on 7200 right now, think it was just a hair over 1K if I remember. |
|
The wait that most dealers are telling people is a minimum of 8-12 weeks but in most cases it has been a lot longer. I have however seen many on gunbroker and about 4-5 of them here in Wisconsin at local gun shows. I bought my AP4 From a local who only fired one mag through it. So if you keep looking you may find one sooner than you think. |
| Why not look on Gunbroker or other places where they are in hand to buy them? It's been like this everywhere. I waited 5 months nearly a year ago to get a DSA FAL custom order. I don't think the line is any shorter today. I was willing to wait to save the several hundred dollars it would cost to buy an in-stock model at that time. With the SASS I just looked on Gunbroker and paid the going price to have one now. I didn't want to wait months to get one direct from DPMS. |
|
My only complaint about the wait time is that DPMS has not told the truth to my local shop or to me. They have been called twice. Once from me and once from the gun shop. I was told it would be on time. Then 3 weeks go past the original stated time, I called the shop to see if they could get an accurate time of delivery they were told 2 weeks. Its been 4 weeks since then. Total has been well since early Feb. I can handle the wait but please give me a close estimate of delivery. AL |
See what their wait is.. GA Precision built 308 AR a little more $$, but a hand built custom rifle. When I ordered mine, they had all the parts in stock, the only wait was for them to put it together (about 2 month wait) |
| I went through the same thing when I bought my 308B. I couldn't believe the wait for the factory. I would check the EE or other online sources for a DPMS 308. They are incredible guns and there are used ones out there for sale. DPMS rifles are no longer cheap, but that's because work got out about their quality. |

recently was told by uncle of a guy in Afgan that they are using DPMS ar10's there. this co. is in actuality a tester supplier of the u.s. military 1st. These type of companies have to bump any other buiseness in lieu of fulfilling military contracts. A local dealer 1 week ago got the 1st ar10 he had ordered for a customer in early feb 08. While i'm here, can anyone tell me how to contact a guy (in FLA?) that used 2 post here offering really excellent ar mods like turning bbls. to pencil thin, fluting, installing adjustable gas blocks, muzzle threading etc.????? was very affordable also. thanks! |

I talked to a couple of the factory guys while I was at the DPMS Tri-Gun match a couple weeks ago about waiting times. They told me that DPMS is working 2 shifts, they are about 35,000 rifles behind and waiting time on new orders is estimated at 8-12 months. Obama has been very good for their business, I guess. |
