So I know Silver State makes a combat load.  Checking their website I don't see anything marked as such.  115gr OTM?  Or do I have to call and ask for it?

Why not try the Barnes 110grn?  That round is pure nasty...

Yeah that sucks.  You have to place a standard order then ask for combat loads in the comments section, or call.  I think that is poor marketing

You have to either call and state thats what you wish or add it in the comment section, I DISAGREE thats its poor marketing from their stand point heres why, FOR SOME BARRELS, it will cause some issues, IE possible hazards which could in turn pass liability onto them, therefore they default to the non combat load as most people are not aware of the different in there 1:10 6 grove versus the new altered chambers emerging. Therefore from a safety standpoint, it makes perfect sense. IF someone is not going to be diligent enough to know what chamber they have and just order 6.8 ammo, the standard load makes sense for them to default to.

Granted they should have the option for selecting combat load, still... I see where they are coming from IF thats there reasoning (it may not be and SSA feel free to correct me) however it would be mine if I ran the company like it or not.

I will have a Kotonics 1:11 twist 4 groove barrel.  From my reading here, that one can handle the combat load.

Is the "combat load" the 115gr OTM SMK loaded hotter than the commercial load?  Or is it some other configuration?

EDIT:  I just looked on the 6.8 Forums link in your signatureand there is a thread there about the difference in the loads.  I see they are all available in commercial and combat.

Correct, SSA offers a commercial and combat variety for everything they sell 6.8 related. your Ko Tonics barrel will handle the combat loads, others have reported no signs of issue with the 1:10 twist however.
