I just received a DPMS LR308 that I ordered. Based on recommendations that I read, I installed a RRA 2 stage trigger.

The hammer, as installed, rubbed on the bottom of the bolt carrier preventing free movement of the carrier in the upper receiver. I stoned off the sharp nose on the top of the hammer and got the carrier to move freely.

Has anybody else had this problem? Do you think my solution was the right way to go?

You are not alone. I had exactly the same problem and used the exact same solution.

What did you'll do to the hammer after stoning?  Any rust protection?  Or do you just keep it with a light coat of oil?

Actually, on both my AR's in .223 and .308, I put a light coat of grease on this surface and on the bottom of the carrier where it rubs the top of the hammer.

Both the hammers and the bolt carriers show a little wear where the surfaces make contact.
