Hi all, I am pretty new to this site and the AR platform. I have a DPMS Pather Lite in 5.56. and I ordered a DPMS LR308 and will be getting it on Friday. I am getting a Magpul PRS for it and was curious how to remove the factory stock and install the PRS. Someone told me that you need a "Special" Wrench. Is that true?? Also getting a new grip and bipod. Any tips on installs would be great. Thanks For any help guy and I cant wait to join the ranks. Thanks.

Some special wrench?

No, you just need a big ass flat head screw driver.   Power driver with a BIG flat head bit works too.

On the butt plate there are two screws, unscrew the upper one, wiggle off the old stock, slip on the PRS and put their screw in.  They include a nice stainless one.  On an AR-15, there is a spring for the rear push pin to worry about.  On a DPMS 308 that spring is inserted from the bottom and held by the grip.

The old stock screw could be locktited, thats why you need a big screwdriver.

Grip is pretty much the same, dont loose the 2 little springs and detents.

Bipod and such depend on which model you get.

Thanks You Answered all of my questions. My biggest concern was that I got everything I needed. Was worried that I needed a new buffer tube or something. Thanks a ton.

If you dont mind me asking, did you just order the 308 PRS? If so, who had it in stock, all the places I usually check are BO right now. Thanks.

Dont mind at all. I got it straight from magpul. They said a minimum of 2 weeks until it even ships. Then crazy thing, 6 days later it showed up. Fits great and love it.
