My new DPMS came with jsut the flattop and no front sight. I like the front sight as a back up. Best one to add. Type that goes on the front rail above the gas block or the original type. If I go original do I need to have a gun smith do it since the muzzle break is fixed. (NY compliant). Thanks for any help.

Have you considered adding a flip-up front sight to the front end of the free-float tube? You can purchase Picatinny rail stock and attach it to the top of the FFT.

If the barrel is 0.75" where the gas block is, you can purchase a 2 piece railed gas block from Yankee Hill Machine. Cut off the old gas block, bolt on the 2 piece block and go shooting.
