I am building a 20 Tac and wonder what type dies you all are using. I want to use once fired 223 brass as I can't see $56/100 for the Lapua. If I must use new 223 what brand do you like.

What steps are you using to neck it down. is it one pas through a case sizing die or do I need to go the sizing die route with the changable sizers?

Thanks,

Greg

I'm also waiting for my 20 Tac upper to come in....

I talked to Mike at D-tech, and he said to full-length size with 223 die, with neck expander removed.  That allows the neck to shrink, but not re-expand upon removal.
Then, use full-length 20 Tac die to size down to proper dimensions...

Be really carefull how much lube you use, as you can dimple some brass pretty easily..

I should add, I have the 20 tac 2 piece set from Redding ( the only one's I've found)

Hope that helps,

I load my 20 Tactical with Lake City brass on a Dillon 650.  Just one pass through the 20T size die and fire it as-is.

Tony,

What does your setup consist of? barrel maker, twist, length, etc.??

What kind of groups are you getting?

Care to enlighten us as to bullet/ powder combos that are working good for you??

Thanks,

The barrel is 25" long Pac-Nor Stainless 3 groove, .935 diameter, straight cylinder, no taper.
I use Reloader 10X if I'm just loading a few on a standard press, but it doesn't work well in the Dillon powder measure.  For large quantities of ammo, I switch to AA2520.
Primers are CCI#41.  Five shot groups average 3/8" at 100 yards.  With IMI SS109 cases, I can get the 33gr Hornady bullet to 4300fps.
