A family member has had a TAC20 on order from R Guns since May 1 and still has no word on when it will ship.  He's just about given up.

Are other people having to deal with this problem?

Is it just the TAC20 or all models?

Word is getting out about the DPMS .308 rifles.  I see someone in the EE is looking to trade their Armalite for a DPMS.

I have ordered several DPMS rifles over the last few years. Each time I order, the wait is longer than before. The last rifle I ordered in May isn't scheduled to arrive until Nov.

Brett

EDIT: The I got was not a TAC20 tho, it was an LR-308B.

Just bought one about 3 weeks ago. The two gunshops I frequent have some DPMS 308 AP4 models in stock and don't seem to have a problem getting them. Try various gunshops.

I had heard that DPMS is 16,000 rifles behind in production.
That may play a small role in your ability to get rifles in a timely manner :)

I just picked up today my Mark 12, 16 weeks after ordering.  If you order a specific complete rifle it is taking 18-21 weeks for shipment.  I was told between military orders and barrel specs. things are slow.  Have your gun shop call them inquiring what the hold up is.  Squeaky wheel gets the oil.

I called DPMS last week and the fellow told me there is a 6 month wait for a LR-308 with a 24" bull barrel.  I imagine, like others are saying, that there are dealers out there with rifles waiting to sell so if you want one right away you'll need to go that route vs. DPMS direct.

I've had a complete .260 upper assembly on order for 4 months now.  DPMS recently confirmed that they are really backed up.  So it's going to be a while before my LR-308 lower gets to wear a new hat

I looked all over the DFW, TX area for an LR-308AP4 with no luck.  Panther City Arms in Fort Worth had one and other DPMS 308s in stock.  They did say 6 months on new orders, although they have stock on a regular basis.

I picked up a 24" recently in Waco. There is also a shop in killeen with all the models but there up there in price. Just grab a phone book and call around. The store i bought mine at received a 3 rifle shipment from dpms the morning i called. Didn't even have it out of the
boxes yet when i got there. So if you don't see it ask! I'm glad i did he gave me a great price on it.

Larue spr.  here's where i just got mine.  M.S.T.I..  on my doorstep in 2 days.  the price is going rate for new.  hard to find much cheaper used.  everybody says these are king.  after handling, i can see why. you'll need 30mm for the SS.

I ordered a 223 w/20"bubl l Tuesday and got it today.  I went thru a dealer and his distributor showed 7 on hand. He had a 308 16" in stock and I got it also. Very good prices.  Maybe your dealer or distributor isn't in a hurry to sell you a DMPS.

24 weeks.  i guess that's dpms eh?  wow.
look around online.  i ordered my tac20 2 weeks ago.  it shipped today.  here's the link.
when i called on the phone, they said availability is updated every 24 hours.  so "in stock" means it's there.
i'm not sure why it took 2 weeks to ship, but i'm really excited now that i know it's on the way. sucks, i gotta travel for work thursday though.  hope it gets here by tuesday, but with my luck......oh well, there's always the week after next.  still beats the crap out of 24 weeks.

The store I was at had AP-4's. The one I asked about ordering was the LR-308C.
I have not been able to find any of those on the net.
