Hi everybody. Need some help. I am wanting to put the Magpull PRS stocks on my 2 LR's. Do I use the ar-10 version or the smaller one? Can I use standard grips on it? Last but not least, What is the best barrelbreak in process? Thanks Thanks JM |

Standard grips but may need a little tweaking. I had to do a bit of work on my Hogue grip to make it fit without a gap but that only took 10 minutes with a Dremmel. I only break in barrels on target guns. IMO it is a waste of time and ammo on anything but a high grade target rifle, and my .500 Phantom and .470 Rhino are not. When I do break in I use the Armalite method as posted on their web site. I cannot recall the exact procedure right now because it has been a lot of years since I fooled with doing that. While the LR-308 uses the AR-15 buffer TUBE, I am not sure which PRS stock you will need. As I said in another post, I think the only difference between the PRS AR-15 and PRS AR-10 is a longer clearance cut for the charging handle, but you really need to check with Mag-Pul on that. Buffers and springs are different. Buffer, CAR buffer is #308-CS-10B Buffer spring, CAR is #308-CS-10A DPMS #308-BS-11 LR-308 Rifle length buffer DPMS #308-BS-10B LR-308 Rifle length buffer spring |

the 308 length stock is needed on the prs. www.kriegerbarrels.com/RapidCat/catalog/pagetemplate.cfm?template=/RapidCat/common/viewPage.cfm&PageId=2558&CompanyId=1246 make sure to use hpbt bullets for break in, not fmj with an exposed base. |
| Yes, the AR-10 stock is needed for the .308 AR. The reason being that the cheek rest is shorter because the charging handle on the .308 LR is longer. The other stock will fit but the charging handle will hit the cheek rest when it is raised and you cock the rifle. |

I would think that the best barrel break in process for a DPMS rifle is the one reccommended in the DPMS owners manual and catalog. Clean the bore after every round for the first 25 rounds. Then, Clean the bore after every 10 rounds for the next 100 rounds. You will probably want to use a good generic American made brand until you are ready to switch to the match stuff for accuracy. |
