Well Im no gunsmith...but the 7mm-08 (to me) means an all around tactical weapon. You get the larger 7mm round with more kinetic energy than the 5.56....with less drop than the .308 in long range cases... Basically Im looking for somethin that can be used in a close contact sitution and be fired multiple times without me feeling it but at the same time giving me that extra bit of "punch" (like the .308) while at the same time being long range friendly, when its need. Hey I did a 7mm-08 for my AR10 and its great. I turned a 7mm blank, .850 under the handgurad, midlength gas block( .750) 18 inches long. Reamed the headspace kinda tight(I only shoot my reloads) and its very accurate and little less recoil (not that recoil bothers me) its aneet gun...............AD |
