So I got one of these the other day. Nice weapon. Gotta do some upgrades though. I have a few questions for anyone in the know.

Accessories.

1. Will the free float tubes designed for the AR-10 work on this weapon? Like Daniel Defense...

2. Will Any stock that goes on the AR-10 fit this. I would love to put a 6 position tele-stock on it.

3. If I get a free float picatinny tube... what kind of front sight will work with the fixed carry handle BAR-10... The kind I have in mind like the Troy from sight that sits on the end of the top picatinny rail.

4. Hogue wouldn't fit on it, so got any suggestions for a nice grip?

5. Will the AR-10 Carry handle work on the BAR-10 flat top?

Parts interchanging.

1. Will an AR-10 bolt and bolt carrier work in the Bushmaster?

2. Will the Bushmaster upper work on the Armalite lower and vise versa?

3. Can you swap the barrels between the Bushmaster and AR-10?

Any and all info is greatly appreciated

Only question I can answer is Bushmaster and Armalite 308 rifles do not interchange (major) parts.

I can not answer your othher questions but I will add this if you do not already know.

Bushmaster discontinued these 308 rifles and (sold??) the design to Rock River Arms.

Bushmaster has had poor customer service on these rifles and I think they do not want anything more to do with them.

SO,,,NOW the wait is on for RRA's to get these rifles working. We must hope that RRA's rifles will be close to the BM so parts, etc will interchange.

This is the reason I purchased Armalite AR10 rifles, they have already been proven

I too have a BAR-10 rifle for the past 6 months and was thinking of upgrading the look of the clam shell. I have decided to upgrade my rifle with JPs VTAC handguards.

Wrong, It was RR design from the beginning

I've had nothing but great success with their CS Department when it came to my .308s

ALMOST everything that we will be releasing for the RRA LAR-10 will work with your BAR-10, including MOST replacement parts.  We will be marketing a full line of OEM and accessory parts as the project gets going...some from us, and many from big names already in the market.  If accessories that fit any of the other brands fit and function,it is by coincidence rather than design.
The biggest changes we've made are to the barrel, bolt and carrier, and charging handle, along with several other, smaller changes to the design/parts.  It's taking us far longer than planned to bring this project to market, but we want to do it right.

Steve,

Thank you for the reply. I can only pray that in your design changes of the Bolt and Carrier parts that they can Work in my BAR-10 or at least you guys can find a way to modify my BAR-10 to use your parts. I intend to Get a RRA 308 when they become available. Can't wait. Also looking forward to your 40 cal AR. Again thank you for the info.

I contacted BM about this. They said that they have a limited supply of replacement parts on hand and if my Bolt should break (As this has been the major problem I've heard about) that they would fix it and they have a better quality bolts for such a purpose. They wouldn't sell me one though

Will that tube fit over a low profile gas block? I want to turn my BAR-10 16" into a Dissipator config.

I have a Hogue AR grip on mine. Fits perfect. I tried a CAA G27 but the beavertail had a big gap tween it and the reciever so I went with the Hogue.

I couldn't get mine to work at all. Everytime I would tighten the bolt down there would be like a 1/32nd or even 1/64th gap of day light showing. Got a picture of it on yours?

And that's a regular hogue for the AR-15? What's the deal... Mine wouldn't go all the way down. I have the little spring guy in the proper place... just when it tightened up it didn't seat right. Well... now I'm pissed.

Anyone know of a 6 position telestock that will work on it? ACE has got that SOCOM stock which looks kinda cool but I would prefer a tele.

You can't use CAR stocks set up for the AR-15 sized rifles/lowers on either the BAR-10 or the RRA LAR-10.
We have a 6-position that will be available...same plastic stock portion, but the receiver extension, buffer, and action spring are proprietary to the .308.  So I suppose that if you waited for our proprietary parts, you could probably use whatever commercial-sized stock you wanted on it.
There isn't any problem with the rifle extension and stocks for it (although the spring and buffer are proprietary for it, the receiver extension and A2 stock are standard parts).
BTW...the Hogue grip is standard on all of thr RRA LAR-10s...and shouldn't have any problems fitting the BAR-10.

I also have a Hogue grip on my BAR-10, it fits great and works like a champ.

Steve, Thanks for the reply. I always thought the Armalite Tele-Stock for the AR-10 was a little bigger than for the AR-15. Guess not.  There must be something wrong with my Hogue then... I'll check out another one and see if I can get it to work. Thanks for the info guys. Daniel Defense told me they had a quad rail that will work on the BAR-10 it's jsut a little different than the AR-10... so YAY! This project may have a chance of coming along after all.

Oh yeah... anyone know where to get this special spring and buffer...

Steve... Is RRA selling them yet? I'd just assume buy it from you guys rather than anyone else.

Will the Amalite heavy buffer that comes with the Telestock when puchased for the AR-10 work on the BAR-10.

I know I'm askin a lot of questions guys but I am trying to learn as much about my new rifle as possible and there seems to be limited info on it out there. If anyone can point me to a detailed info source on it I'd greatly appreicate it. But otherwise you guys seem to know way more than me and I appreciate the help.

I guess an explanation of terminology is in order.
Proprietary means specific to this rifle/our production.  You can not use any other spring, buffer, receiver extension as a replacement for a proprietary part.  Please do not attempt to use someone else's 308 rifle parts on either the BAR-10 or RRA LAR-10...you could damage your rifle or, worse, yourself.  Each company has pursued different methods to achieve the end they sought...and different sized, shaped, etc...parts proprietary to their own models were the result.  There is some crossover between some parts on some models...but DO NOT pull a trigger on something you've hybrided together until you know, for sure, that it is safe.  Some parts are even identical, but they different manufacturers aren't going to tell you that...we had 308 bbl extensions in our catalog five years ago and didn't even have a rifle for them.  Remember safety is the FIRST priority.
The stocks will be available shortly after the rifles, and the sub parts will probably be available a short time after that.

Thanks. I'll just be patient and wait for RRAs stock to become available. The BAR-10 has a good stock on it now but I like the Telestock look better than the Skeleton stock it now has. Good things come to those who wait. look forward to the new gear.

It will be a tight fit. I'd recommend a YHM-9381A
