Has anyone had there mags buldge when they load them up with .308?  I have noticed that mine do after 5 rounds off .300WSM, if it is out of the mag well.  If i break open the gun, and load the mag with it installed i can load 10 rounds no problem.  Any thoughts?  Would cutting the mag spring down a little help this?

Thanks,
Mack

I have had no problems so far with my .308 mags in my SASS rifle.  I have 11 mags and I will load them all full tonight and check to be sure.

Sort of.  I mean all 13 of mine bulge when loading up with more than 5 rounds but not with .308.  My LR-308 lower is the basis of a soon to be completed .500 Phantom build and when I load more than 5 of those into the mag (it holds 8 total, 9 if I push real hard) if I bump the mag on the floor plate the mag swells and will not drop free.  If I push the rounds down into the mag like I am trying to put in another cartridge but don't, and release slowly-unlike the bump-the swelling goes away and it will drop free again.  That is one reason I keep begging CP to make us some SS LR-308 mags.  I'd bet dollars to doughnuts those suckers wouldn't swell!
