I read that the New RRA is the old bushmaster, just improved.  I know the old bushy didn't work with all FAL mags.

What percentage (roughly) did the Bushy not work well with?  (I know it depends on manufacterer etc.  I just am wondering if it works well with the vast majority of mags, or is it picky?

Has RRA done anything to improve the situation?

Did you try asking Steve (RRAMODERATOR) in the Industry forums or reading the 9 page thread about the LAR-10 there?

Yep, read the 9 page thread.  Didn't see anything though.

FAL mags are really theissue, not the rifle itself. We've had a very small percentage of FAL mags that won't work in any of the prototype rifles, and some that won't even work in FALs.  Over the years, millions of FAL mags were made on numerous dies in a multitude of plants in a significant number of countries. Especially as some of those dies wore, the mags that were being made on them weren't the best. While the RRA LAR-10 will ship with the best FAL mags we can find, we're also going to be doing our own die and make new "FAL" mags in varying capacities (looking at 5, 10, 20, and 30).

I'm looking forward to the new RRA also but I do currently have one of the Bushmaster AR-10's. A couple of my FAL mags are REAL tight fitting but do work with no problems. I did buy 20 that were "new" and they look and function and fit GREAT.

Tell me these will work in a regular FAL

Should...looking at doing them in metric configuration.
30rd mags already exist as modified inch pattern mags from the L1A1/L7A1.

Just a couple of questions, will RRA parts, if any, fit the Bushmaster BAR-10? What's the difference between them?

Most parts will interchange, as of now.
The biggest delays have been related to going through the entire design, front to back analyzing all of the parts to determine what, if any, changes need to be made to them.  Some of the changes will be noticable, many won't.  I'm certainly not trying to be evasive, but until everything is finalized, I don't want to say anything specific on parts interchangability.

Steve,
We appreciate your responses and information.  Sounds like RRA is putting a lot of effort into the LAR models!

I know the RRA catalog I got a few months ago stated that these models would be out Summer of 06'.  I know you can't give specific dates.  Can you tell us if these will be out this summer or if we should expect them this fall.  (My apolgies if this is a repeat question).

*Any plans to chrome-line?
