I got one recently and was wanting some experiences you may have encountered while relaoding or shooting it.

Have you tried shortmags.com ?    Sorry BLAMMER,  that site should read shortmags.org    Another edit.... I don't know what I was thinking when I posted that since I know the fella at shortmags does not like wssms.  The place to checkout would be wssmzone.com for possible info.

I have been wanting to either get a .25 or .243 WSSM upper but haven't seen a lot of chatter on the topic.  They seem to be priced well for what you get and I've even seen ammo for one or the other at Wally World.  I don't use them as a benchmark for ammo availability but sure does eliminate a lot of kinks in the supply chain.  Why shouldn't I get one?

Also, isn't there some .25 load that is too long to fit in a mag?

The 25WSSM factory ammo has to be set back to be utilized in the mag

Shot my 25 WSSM Olympic K8 Friday for the first time.  As accurate as I can hold it.  Last 3 shot group was 1-1/2" high X 1/2" wide.  The 1-1/2" was due to me, the rifle will do better. Trigger needs a little work, other than that an excellent rifle.  Load used was 40 grs IMR4895, Sierra 100 gr MatchKing, OAL = 2.97" (just fits in magazine).

What exactly is meant by set back?  Is that a different manner of loading the mag or does it involve seating the bullet deeper to obtain a shorter OAL?  Also, does this apply to all .25 WSSM factory ammo or just certain loads?

Thanks

You have to seat the bullet deeper to get them in the mag.  The OAL is too long for magazines
The 243 WSSM does not have this problem

It almost seems pointless to have a .25 in an AR if you can't use the mags.  Why not just get a good bolt gun?

How much of a difference is there between the .25 and .243 WSSM rounds other than the obvious .xxx" difference in diameter?

So who is doing a .243 WSSM upper?
I load for the .243 WSSM in my Savage, it would be pretty cool to have an upper that would take the same cartridge.
