I just installed a Rock River Arms trigger on my Dpms .308.  I see that the hammer spring rests against the trigger pin and in it's groove to keep it from coming out on its own. My question is , what keeps the hammer pin located? Mine seems to move from side to side rather easily and I'm afraid it might come out.

I use anti-walking pins, you can get them on many sites. I got mine from Bushmaster's online shop. Basically, they're pins with a wide head, and a retainer nut/spring at the other end.

Yes, before the anti-walking pins, I've had the trigger pin pop out ...

Hope that helps.

There is a captive spring and detent in the hammer which keeps the hammer pin from walking.  Look through the hammer axel hole and you will see it in there.
