[ARCHIVED THREAD] - Need help making a decision

I'm in the market for a nice .308 setup. I'm looking at three possibilities.

1) PANTHER™ LR-308 B 18” BULL BARREL .

2) Springfield M1A1 Standard loaded

3) JBL HK clone

What R Your Thoughts ?

By no means will I be using this for competition or for self defense. I will be using this as an added toy for my collection. Shooting for sport so to speak. As far a budget I am looking to stay under $1500. This can afford me anyone of these rifles. Ialso have optics to put on, so that will not be included in the set up.

Yep, Optics is the kicker, go DPMS LR308 or Armalite AR-10.
Either of these can be had inside of $1500 and will be great platforms for a good scope.

I Went with the SA M1A1. Picked her up today. Birch--tiger stripe stock with m14 selector switch cut out. I am so Stoked.

just 100mph tape a piece of gi foam pad on the stock to get you up to the scope.

Was going to use my Leupold, but decided on the Super sniper after reading reviews. Anyway, I will need a cheek rest?? Where can I get one??

I have an M1A standard loaded and absolutely love it. I am trying to get good with the iron sites before going to an optic. I was thinking of the super sniper but also the IOR Valdata tactical scope. I would be interested in your input on how the super sniper performs on top of that M1A.

I do intend to buy another .308 this year and that decision is between an Armalite and the new RRA LAR-10 (leaning towards the RRA).
