I"ve been thinking about that,  and here's what I'm gonna do.

My older QCB is an early one, and never was internally relief-cut for the AK mags anyway.
I've been using it on my standard AR15 lower all this time for barrel changes, and it has worked really nice in that role. I think it is a great addition to any normal AR15, and gives so much versatility that I have become totally addicted to easy change of barrels for different uses.
So, I'm going to keep it on my normal AR lower, where it really is perfectly suited to that.

Then, I'm going to get myself a new Modular Lower and new QCB upper, and use that as my multi-caliber, multi-magazine gun.

Some people who like the vertical grip very close to the receiver may find the lever capturing assembly in their way.
On the new style QCB, the levers and the capture assembly are able to be flipped, and the levers can be put up on the top, with the capture slide riding the top rail, thus leaving the entire bottom rail unencumbered for use with the vertical grip close to the receiver. We also do this top lever arrangement when using an M203 launcher mounted to the bottom of the handguard.

It is now versatile enough to allow putting the levers on top or on bottom, at the user's preference, by the user himself. The levers have to be somewhere, but top or bottom location can now be selected by the user, and changed back and forth at any time.

We made it as versatile as we could, while still retaining the function of the system.
