Look I know some people don't care for chrome lining. Others however like myself will only buy a semi-auto with chrome lining from the basis that it lasts much longer, is easier to clean, and doesn't rust or pit as easily.

So basically just seeing who is holding out for Chrome?

Just curious honestly as I spoke to about five people the other day that said the same, they won't buy the DPMS or any Semi non-chrome lined.

Why would you want to chrome a stainless steel barrel?

Some of us want a 18"-20" light or med wt barrel

As far as I know only the heavy DPMS barrels are SS.

The rest are CM.

you gonna ship me your lathe? Doesn't make sense to pay more for a heavy bbl, then even MORE to pay a gunsmith to take material off.

I too would like to see a 20", std-contour, chrome-lined offering from them.

How about an 18" chrome lined government profile under the handguards with a mid-length gas system and bayonet lug! Lightest .308 800 meter semi-auto battle rifle that is just as good as any AR military system! Leave the medium contour or bull barrel stainless stuff for the bench guys. Government profile would be light enough for field use and most FAL barrels are similiar in contour so accuracy would be within spec for given platform. and able to engage man sized targets to 800 meters.

What is the "4140 Chrome-moly steel" that they state the .308 AP4 barrel is??

I don't know, but they won't chrome line that particular barrel.

Pay attention......Randall Rausch was bored and put a LR-308 extension onto an AR-10 barrel. It fits. You want a chrome lined barrel for the LR-308...just order an AR-10 barrel with the appropriate gas port location.
