| I'M LOOKING FOR A SCOPE FOR A DPMS 18 INCH AR-10. THE SCOPE IS MOSTLY BEING USED FOR PLINKING AND RAPID FIRE FUN AT THE RANGE. THE REST OF THE TIME IT WOULD BE USED FOR DEER HUNTING IN NY. HARD COMBO FOR ME TO DECIDE ON BUT I'M THINKING OF COMPACT ACOGS(NOT SURE WHICH MAGNIFICATION TO STICK WITH) AIMPOINT, TRIJ.ACCUPOINT 1.25-4X,PLOEASE HELP WITH ADVICE. |

SOunds like a variable power, something in the 1-4X range, with a lit reticle is the way I would suggest. Which one is basically up to you and how much money you can spend. I like the Accupoint with its BAC capability but the NIghtforce, S&B, IOR are all good choices. |

I moved this. Technically the DPMS 308 is not an "AR-10" as that's a trademark of Armalite. I have a 16" AR10. I have a fixed 6x scope on it now, but think that's a little high for some brush busting type hunting. An aimpont would be good. I had an eotech on my AR10 for awhile. An acog would be a slick set up if you are willing to spend the money on it. I like the looks of the lower power Leupold tactical scope www.leupold.com/products/tactical_products/Mark_4_1_5-5x20mm_PR.htm 1.5-5x You could dial it down to 1.5 for drives and still have 5x for sitting watch or in a tree stand. |
