I think I am going with a ALG trigger. I want simple mill spec. Reliability and durability are the main objectives of this build. The QMS is exactly what I was looking for but, the ACT sounds quite nice as well. Is the finish on the ACT going to wear off like the hard lube in an upper? Just how much longevity does that finish add to the trigger life of the ACT vs the QMS? ALG says the ACT trigger can be painted if someone does not want a silver trigger. However, I have read that the pins are not to be painted (no idea if this is true or not). I am not overly fond of the idea of silver dots on the sides of my lower. Is the ACT worth it?

I own an ACT trigger, and absolutely love it!!! You can't paint the pins, but you could get cold blue and just blacken the ends of the pins or you could even use black spray paint (again just paint the ends). Th trigger comes with two springs (purple and tan) the purple one is for a lighter pull and the tan spring is "mil spec". I use the tan spring for maximum reliability and with this trigger I have achieved that. The pull is around 6lbs and is crisp with a great reset. All my builds now use this trigger, it is an all around great trigger.

I have seen no finish wear, only some slight wear on the hammer where the bolt rides.

The ACT is tits for what you're wanting.  Really.  I have OG springs-- MilSpec only --and it's a safe weight with a perfect amount of sear engagement, but zero stacking and the creep is like glass, the overtravel is essentially zero.  I don't know how a milspec trigger could be better.  Paint the exposed stuff if you want but it's hardly a sore thumb compared to the Gucci crap on guns these days.

I put the ALG ACT with the purple spring in my AR 9mm lower and the trigger pull is only 3.75 pounds if you like a light pull.  I have not had any problems yet but it is a bit lighter than I like.

I run both the ALG fcgs. QMS is better for me. ACT is a tad light for my needs.

Both are great for the money.

I use a QMS too.  Not too light but has a consistent break so it works well for me.  Highly recommended for the price.  I considered trying out the single stage geissele trigger but I group the same with the QMS as I do with an SSA so I can't really justify the expense.

Never tried the ACT but very happy with the QMS.

ACT is the best way to go IMO.

I have them in all of my Rifles. Even when they get dirty, the trigger pull is very smooth.

I think I have 5 ACT triggers now. I prefer single stage mil spec type triggers, and the ACT is as smooth as any I have found.
Great value for the money.

I quit buying the ACT because I like the QMS just as much.

I don't have an ACT, but do have the QMS. It's nice. However, so is PSA's EPT, which is all I use now (cheaper than the QMS and feels slightly better, to me).

I use ACT in all of my builds.  Reasonable price and now comes with purple spring too.

I have both - QMS good enough for my sausage finger.
