Do they make a railed handguard that will fit the triangle end cap on an M16A1?

Thanks for the reply......I was thinking at one time I saw one but wanted to be sure..... a friend asked because he wants a railed hand guard for his A1 clone but I don't know if anyone makes them

The rifle-length MOE handguards have M-Lok slots that can host rails, and fit triangular endcaps. I actually swapped the vintage A1 furniture off my C7 with a set of MOE for durability for field use.

I don't know if there are any differences between the -A1 and the -A2 triangular piece, but a KAC M5 fits an M16A2

Any "rifle" handguard should fit a triangular end cap, the a2, a3 and A4 all used the triangular end cap.

You were right, there is a round hand guard retainer and they are frequently used. Some aftermarket hand guards do not fit the triangular cap, such as the MOE 'slim', but the regular MOE does because I have one on my middy.

Triangle = Midlength/rifle

You said you wanted a railed handguard in your original post. The Magpul drop-in handguards are polymer and not railed. You can install rail sections, though.

I was looking for railed handguards for a friend...........originally that was the plan, but now the Magpul handguards are what he wants since rail sections can be had and they are lighter than metal rails

There is a round and triangle cap.  The Magpul SL handguard will only fit the round cap.  All their others will fit the triangle.
