| Which buffer tube (receiver extension) do they install on their production rifles? Are they commercial of mil spec dimensions? |
|
I'd assume they are mil spec, since that's the only R/E (buffer tube) that Anderson sells.
I'm a HUGE fan of Anderson R/E's. They are true mil spec 7075-T6, have a fantastic anodizing, just plain work, and are the cheapest mil spec tube you'll find (usually $19/ea or less). They are my go to for R/E's. |

Sure seem to be mil spec to me. I just had 2 come in because I wasn't sure if the ones I had were 7075. My mil spec stock slid rid on with no wobble. Although I don't if commercial spec is smaller or larger in diameter. 1.140" for MS, 1.170" for comm. (tube OD). |

Mine Anderson tube just arrived today. Not impressed. One side of the tube is even and smooth and the other side has a ridge about an inch back from the threads. You can see the line in the second pic, and the area to the right is larger in diameter than the left. Have you tried a stock on it? You do know there is acceptable tolerances in mil spec stuff. If you are really not happy with them, send them back, Anderson is a great company to work with if you are unhappy. |

Oh, it works fine and is already mounted to a lower. I've seen them with smooth, even tubes, and with the ridge the whole way around the circumference, but have never bought one with a ridge that only goes around half way.
It's not something that is worthy of a return, but coupled with the Anderson lower I have that has the buffer detent drill in the wrong spot, I think I am done with Anderson at this point. |
| I have used a lot of Anderson stuff and always had them be a good company to work with, if I got something that was out of spec, I send it back and they send me another, I have had no more problems with them than I have with any other company, mass production unfortunately has some problems from time to time. |
| So far the only Anderson part I own is a buffer tube, and it is acutally really nice. Smooth and even, inside and out, and all the notches are drilled in a straight line...which is more than I can say for some of the supposedly "better" buffer tubes in the collection. |

I have used Anderson tubes on 8 builds. All have been excellent.
Instead of posting here and complaining why not give them a chance to make it right? Then come and post how Anderson took care of their customers. Seems people today are quick to trash online and without giving a company or person a chance to make it right.
Let us know what Anderson does. |
