I am looking to add some railed handguards to my AR with a midlengtht gas system and front sight tower with standard handguards.  I was looking at the midwest industries quad rail drop in and 2 piece free float.  Is there any reason to go with one over the other.  the free float ones are like $20 more and need to have the delta ring removed.  Any reason to just get the drop in one over the free float.  Will either make a difference.  I currently have an eotech 512 and want to get a magnifier so i need to move the eotech up some and it doesn't fit over the standard handguards without a riser to accommodate the magnifier.  Any advice is appreciated. thanks

If you are mounting optics on the handguard I would freefloat.

Otherwise, I use 2 pc. drop ins for mine. Lights, slings, and vert. grips, its gtg.

The eotech would not be directly mounted to the handguard but it would be over it to fit the magnifier.  It seems like the ff handguard would be more stable in this case because it would be fastened together, but I don't know.

DD and Centurion make cool FSP rails.

I have the DD Omega on a Colt 6921. It is an excellent drop-in free float rail assembly.

To me, it's free float tube or nothing.

Keymod or Mlok, it's your choice, but it's just so much lighter and simpler.
