A friend has this stripped upper receiver and I was wondering a fair value on it. I thought of buying it from him but we don't know what price to put on it.
The only marks are on the front mount as expected and marks from his scope mount under the handle. It does have the splintered A on it.

Looks just like the Bushmaster uppers that were on some of their rifles. I bought one about 6 years ago, mine has been fine but I think I only paid $625 for the gun. Honestly I would be interested in one at around $50 or so, but with the retro stuff becoming more popular it may bring more.

Edit: after some research, it may be worth more. Check out A1c7 uppers and you will see prices all over the place with them.

That's funny because it was on a Bushmaster but the box was marked A2, I thought this was an A1 receiver.

A1C7, it was a transition upper before the A2. They make some neat clones for either Canadian rifles, Colt 733, or an IDF clone.

I would not pay over $50 for it and really would not be that excited to get it, but it would be fun to do another retro with it.

Thanks guys, I may just buy this one and save it for a possible future build.

I'd value it at the $60-$75 range, personally.
That's about the average price  that I have seen.  Some ask more, but I don't see them  selling.

I saw one just like this at a gun show last weekend, he didn't have it priced and wouldn't name a price, I offered $50 and he said maybe later.
he took it home with him.
