What does the "White Dot" of paint on the bottom of a new Colt bolt signify? I recently bought a new 6920 that is missing this mark on the bottom of the bolt. I have never seen a new Colt bolt without it. All other markings are as they should be on the BCG. Anything to be concerned about?

Just pulled out the BCG in my new OEM1 that I picked up in October. It doesn't have any white dot paint anywhere. Never heard of that. Carrier is marked "C" and the bolt "MPC". No one played a switcharoo on me is all that matters.

That's what I wanted to find out. Hearing from someone else with the same
rifle from the same time period. Mine has a barrel date of 8/16. Thanks for the responses. I won't worry about not having the white dot on the bolt any more. It must be a step that is now skipped.

I haven't seen the white dot on a Colt bolt in a while.

Still have "MP C" on bolt, and "C" on underside of extractor?

Yes, it's marked exactly as it should be (just like you described above.) FWIW, it too was an OEM 1.
