Planning on a new build with a Spikes upper receiver and BCM 16 inch barrel. Anyone have any experience with these? Do they fit together relatively well and/or what problems were found?

Also looking for a handguard for the 16 inch barrel with a FH. Can I use a 15 inch or shorter?

Both manufacturers are well known and make a good product. As long as everything is in spec, you should not encounter any problems.

When installing the barrel, make sure to grease the threads on the upper receiver. The proper grease is Aeroshell 33ms which you can find small amounts of available from vendors.

With regard to the handguns, a 15" rail or shorter will work. Just bear in mind what length gas system the barrel uses to make sure you don't go too short and leave an exposed gas block unless you want that look. Generally most people opt for longer rails and if you are using iron sights it will give you a better sight radius.

I assembled a similar build, BCM 16inch standard barrel, with a Spikes upper and lower, it went together without issue.
My son and I used a Seekins quad rail handguard, not sure I would go with this again.  It is pretty bulky.  I would recommend you
look at the ALG selection of handguards.

Sounds good. I have a BCM handguard for my current AR. Kind of leaning toward M-LOK on this new build.
