Anybody else have a geisele mk8 and feel like it's less than advertised?
I bought it because I know the brand and I wanted something solid, but it feels frail compared to my DD SLIM rail? Am I crazy? For example, the finish seems paper thin (I have a ddc color) and the metal seems to get knicked easily... |

You are going to be in the minority here.
My MK8 has been totally beat on. It gets thrown in barrels, tossed in the dirt and on the ground. It has taken some hard falls onto concrete. Rail never shifts, nothing comes loose and it's rock solid. Mine is black and has been rattle canned numerous times, but the DDC color is anodized, so there shouldn't be any issues with it flaking or fading. If it does, contact bill and he will take care of you. His CS is excellent. |

The finish is anodized. The sharp corners can bang into things and get nicks, but that shouldn't really matter. The Geissele barrel nut is probably the most robust mounting surface/system out there.
If you think it's too square, find an older Mk3, Mk1, or older Mk4. |
