I really like this upper offered at PSA. I like the stainless barrels aesthetics, the MOE hand guard is pretty standard fare, but I particularly like that this one has a 223 Wylde chamber. With the option of buying a good BCG and charging handle, this is both in my budget and ticks all the check boxes on my "Features I want in my first Upper build" list.
What does the forum think? I'm sure someone has one of these, or has seen similar builds before. My AR (first build) is not intended to be a SHTF or Zombie Apocolypse gun... but a med-long distance plinker, deer/coyote rifle. The SS barrel doesn't scare me with regards to service life, as realistically I would probably only be shooting a few hundred rounds per year, if that. Link: PSA 1:7 SS barrel, MOE handguard, no BCG or CH Thanks! |

That is a pretty good deal. The handguard alone sells for $35. PSA uppers are plenty good and you certainly won't find anything cheaper. edit: this is assuming you want a 18" rifle gas barrel. A 16" might be a better option depending on what you want. That's true.... not as long as a 20" rifle length... but certainly not a 16" carbine length either. I wonder how many others are running 18" barrels and for what intended purpose. I won't plan on clearing rooms or doing an CQC with this build... so 18" may not be too bad for the given purpose. I'll have to think about that. Thanks for the comments. |
