[ARCHIVED THREAD] - handguard question

i have a Fortis rev ii handguard on my ar pistol and it doesnt line up with the rail section of my upper. i measured it today and its .012" lower than the upper receiver. is this normal or excessive? seems excessive to me. i'm running an aero upper with BCM barrel nut if that matters.

I would not give .012" off a second thought. All my Aero uppers and MI forends are perfect matches.

so i should call fortis and see if they will exchange it? the reviews of their fitting well seem to be an issue.
