I have a build in progress and want to order a heavy barrel custom upper from DelTon but I have 2 questions about the handguard length.
They sell a 16 inch mid length upper with a heavy barrel. DTI offers the option of a "YHM 4 Rail Light Weight Free Float Tube". From everything that I can read, this tube is mid-length and therefore will not cover the gas block. Can anyone verify? They also sell a 16 inch carbine length upper with a heavy barrel. DTI offers a "YHM Ext. Diamond Free Float Tube". Again from what I can read, this tube is extended and therefore will cover the gas block. Again, can anyone verify if I'm correct or incorrect? if I had to guess, I'd assume their barrels sport tubes corresponding to their length. If they offered more than that, the other length options would be listed.
You might have better luck asking this in the Del Ton section of the industry forum since it is product specific. |

Thanks. I'll repost (or move) in the DelTon mfgr section as you suggested.
What's confusing to me is the use of Ext. in the description. Does that mean it is the extended (or spectre) length and covers the gas block or not. Hopefully someone over there will know. |
