| I'm looking for an alternative to the A2 Birdcage, but I really don't want something that is a lot louder. I don't care about recoil reduction, but I wouldn't want to go with something that flashes a lot more. Since the A2 is a combination break/flash hider, does that mean that adding a dedicated flash hider would make the rifle quieter than the A2? Mainly I want something that looks more custom but not at the sacrifice of more flash or loudness. I've also heard that some dedicated flash hiders have a "ring" to them, and that sounds like something I'd like to avoid. Any recommendations? |

As far as flash-hiders go, I like the AAC blackout 3-prong the best. It does have a bit of a 'ping', especially when my suppressor is on it. Without it being suppressed, the 'bang' is louder than the ping so it's almost goes unnoticed.
Or if you want a good combo of flash and recoil reduction, try the AAC Brakeout 2.0 |

Buy a 5.5 inch flash hider (used on the old 'Nam 11 inch Commandos)
and cut it off to whatever length you desire. This can be called this an "Open Linear Comp/Muzzle Device", or a slim Flash Can. This is especially useful in SBR/pistol builds and for indoors work - the blast and concussion goes forward. And has less probability of setting your auto headliner on fire. Just one example/place: 5.5 incher One Stop shopping for muzzle devices Comps |
