My searchfu has been very weak recently and I can't quite find what I'm looking for, so I'm asking you all for some help. All feedback is very appreciated.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
My specifications for a barrel are:

16" (non negotiable)

5.56 chamber (.223wylde is ok)

Melonited/nitrided preferred (this will be a hard use barrel, no SS but I don't mind chrome lined)

.750 gas block step is heavily preferred (.625 is ok as long as the profile isn't super thin)

I'd like it to be able to keep at least 10 rounds close together before heat starts walking it significantly (negotiable)

Light(er) weight (sub 28oz, less is better with most of the weight towards the reciever, no govt profiles)

Moa, or close to it capable

$300 max
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
This will be put on a lightish rifle that is going to be carried a lot, and shot even more. If you have a barrel that doesn't quite fit the specs but you think it's a great barrel and worth whatever spec it doesn't fit, don't be afraid to post it. Thanks.

AR15Perfomance...aka...ARP

16" mid scout barrel, 27oz, 4150 cmv, melonite, 1/8 5R rifling, .223 Wylde...doesn't get much better, especially at the price.

F**k, I missed the Hanson profile 16" on sale. $173 would've been a steal. Do you know if the arp barrels come dimpled?

So I believe I've narrowed it down, I'm debating between the arp scout profile 16" @27oz -$185, a faxon firearms gunner profile 16" @23oz -$175 but doesn't come dimpled, or the sionics 16" lw @22oz -$209. The faxon and sionics have a .625 gas block step, but I feel the weight savings are worth it. The sionics barrel seems kinda thin but I've only read good things about them. The arp and sionics are in stock now, the faxon is not. Tell me which you would buy and why.

The ARP has 5R rifling, not sure any of the others do.

It is also dimpled for a set screw gas block.

...and yes, I have two ARP barrels.

FYI, Sionics uses Green Mountain blanks for their barrels, very good quality.

My vote would be the BA government profile with a pinned gas block for $147.  I have a 11.5in BA barrel and a 16in Wilde BA barrel.  Both are very nice and group well.

Too bad they are out of the Hanson profile.

With how much less the other two barrels weigh compared to the arp, I think the arp is out of the running. Plus with all the good things I've been hearing about sionics I think that's what I'll go with, thank you all for helping me out! I really appreciate it.
