I am attempting to install a 13 inch rail and have run into a problem. I could not find a wrench that would fit the barrel nut that comes with it. Took it to my gunsmith and he tried 4 different wrenches and none of them worked. the holes simply would not line up with any wrench we tried. Have any of you run into this and is there a solution? Yes I know buy a Troy! But excluding that, any advice? Is there another way to tighten the nut without a nut wrench?

I did call the manufacturer (Omega Manufacturing) and they took my name and number, but something tells me I probably won't hear from them (again you should have bought a Troy).

Hate to say it, but this is why buying quality is the smart thing.    (Not Troy though.)

Anyways, can we get a pic of the barrel nut?

Man I am so done with these 'optics factory/Firefield/Vector/' etc...Chinese CRAP knock-off rails, I can't stand it. Yours is NOT the only one. I have had 2 of them, and barrel wrenches don't line up on the holes because they are JUNK that is out of spec! One of mine had the holes drilled 'oblong' with the circumference of the nut, so some gas port holes were close to the edge (almost coming off the edge) and some are deeper set...
then, if by happenstance or magic or pure luck it will go onto your upper, the aluminum is so soft it stretches out the holes! Not to mention that accessories have to be hammered onto them because the picatinnies are so out of spec nothing will slide onto them!

sorry- rant over.

Yes, they are cheap, but do like me- watch for sales and the EE and get a QUALITY name brand rail. You will be so glad.
