just wondering what people find works great as a mk12 barrel?

18" with rifle length gas system

I have a BCM 18" SS match grade with ion-bond coating, very nice barrel and as far as I can tell it's super accurate.  If you are on a budget, spare no expense on your barrel (especially for a mk12 build) and bolt, but you can shave some cost by finding blemed uppers and lowers etc.

Several Kreiger's on that list, a couple Douglas and Black Hole Weaponry barrels as well. A buddy of mine has a Rainier UltraMatch that has shown promise.

I'm running a cheap DPMS barrel and I haven't shot the challenge yet. Hopefully I'll find a good load and get on the board sometime.

How important is the Ops Inc profile to you?

If you're actually wanting a Mk 12 barrel profiled for the Ops Inc/AE brake and collar, I made a list with links at the end of this linked post:

Thank you, sir.

*ETA: I went with a WOA SPR barrel. My reasoning was that I simply don't have enough trigger time at this stage to feel worthy of a Douglas/Krieger/Bartlein, etc . . . I haven't shot it yet (rifle has been a very slow, labor-of-love build due to limited funds), so I can't comment on accuracy yet.

I have a Douglas MK 12 barrel from Superior Barrels.  Unfortunately I never got it to shoot well.  If I got another high end barrel I would probably go Kreiger over Douglas.

My DPMS barrel has shown promise.  Here is a group from a ladder load I was shooting.

I believe I made a mistake and that is actually 77gr Nosler bullets.  I had them in a baggie when I split a box with a friend.  I've got more loaded, I just haven't gotten the rifle back out to the range.

Here is the rifle I shot the group with.

Well, it looks like I'll go the Douglas route and get a fitted bolt for it.

imo, I think Kevin from HCS gets you the most legit douglas barrel

I have a 16" BCM 410 barrel that shoots very well.

However, if I were to build a mk12 i'd probably go with a Superior Barrels SPR Barrel
A bit spendy but I've heard good things

I am not very good at shooting groups. That said, despite my inconsistent aim point, and no rear bag, I got my WOA SPR barrel to 10 rounds just over an inch at 100, using CBC 77gr ammo.

The WOA barrels are priced nicely, and I have yet to hear bad things. They are quite popular in the Mk12 thread and are what ADCO has built theirs on.

That also being said, if you want to do a clone, go Douglas and do it right.

I would wait for a perfectly done clone to show up in the EE.  They're in there periodically.

Douglas Stainless Steel 1/7 turned by CLE.  They are the bomb.
